Big Boy Bed

We converted Lonan's crib to a toddler bed over the weekend. As soon as I had the front removed I realized we'd need a rail guard as Lonan is all over the place when he sleeps. At first he was a little perplexed, saying "Crib broken." But once I explained the situation he was very excited and has been telling everyone (including strangers in the street) about his "Big boy bed."

Checkup

Everyday is Christmas.

Lonan had his 2.5 yr checkup this week.. 2 months late. Of course he was at the pediatrician's office at least twice in December when a wave of diphtheria, typhoid and ebola swept through our house. But in all that he never got his actual checkup. So we spent some time with Dr. Anne on Tuesday and got her official seal of approval. 27.5 lbs, 34" tall. Around 25th percentile for height and weight. That's our little guy. She also observed that he's smart and confident. Tell me!

Midnight Snacks

Lonan has been able to climb out of his crib for some time now. The last couple of weeks he's been doing it after we put him to bed. At first he would come find us but we promptly put him back to bed without comment. After a couple of nights he realized coming to us wasn't going to result in any fun. So may as well get a snack! He goes to fridge and helps himself to whatever looks good. I've found him bed with bagels, carrots, apple juice (the entire jug) and the other night, blackberries. He even put them in a bowl himself.
