He's Huge!
10 pounds 7 ounces 22 inches. Six weeks old today. Saw Dr. Anne and all is well. Had the first round of shots... not so bad really. A couple of hearty screams and he was over it. BUT... as Dr. warned, Lonan has been very sleepy today and when he's not asleep he's not happy about being awake.. a little punky.
Meanwhile, he received a bond in the mail, but we have no idea from who. Let us know so we can thank you properly.

Road Trippin
Two nights up at the Russian River. Sunny and warm, very relaxed. Lonan travels like a pro.. but he doesn't exactly travel light. We visited some of our favorite wineries and a few new ones.
and took time to smell the flowers.
It was nice being up midweek. Not very crowded, but wherever we went Lonan was the center of attention... moms and grandmas fawned over him, and he's become quite the flirt... smiling and cooing.
We had dinner one night in town and one night at the inn. Lonan is in a great 3 hour cycle right now... eat, awake, sleep.... wash, rinse repeat. So after a bottle he's a very happy baby for about 2 hours... we managed to eat in that window both nights so all was well.

I'm back & We're Off
Finally some words to go with all the pics. Let's see.... Friday was my last day at work for 2 months - woo-HOO! Doug is heading back to work next week and I will be staying home with Lonan... really looking forward it.
Mammaw left Sunday... we will miss her. She was a tremendous help and Lonan just loves her. Since we are both off this week we decided to take advantage and get out of town for a few days. We're taking the baby up to Sonoma to chill out... hang by the pool... some wine tasting... lots of good food. Will be posting pics of baby's first road trip and will check in when we get back on Wednesday.

Bouncing Baby Boy
9 lbs 2 oz and 4 weeks old today. Dr. Anne says Lonan is thriving. He's grown almost another inch to 20 3/4. He's in the 50th percentile for both height and weight... Poppa admires such moderation. We'll probably take him to dinner tonight to celebrate.

Splish Slash
OK, so here's a pic of Lonan's first bath. He's had one since and get another one tonight. We think they are going well. He is less than impressed.
We went to the Farmers Market this morning. Early afternoon actually,. Heirloom tomatoes, blackberries, apricots, nectarines and dates. Mmmmm. Lonan's daddy insisted keep him hermetically sealed since he has not yet had his shots. Looks like some sort of alien pod. See Daddy and Mammaw sampling apricots in the background?
Tonight is the first time we are going out without the boy. Mammaw is babysitting while we meet friends for dinner. Speaking of which, it's time for Lonan's dinner. Hope y'all are having a great weekend.

He's Huge!
Lonan now weights 8 lbs 9 ounces -- and he's grown to 2o inches. Dr. Anne says he's thriving. She also recommended we let him wake up on his own for night feedings. She says that will help him learn to sleep through the night. Poppa is all for that!

Boppy Baby
We don't really use the boppy pillow for feedings yet since Lonan is still such a lightweight. But I think it will come in handy about 10 pounds from now.
Thursday Catchup
Sorry for the lack of posts. I'm back at work this week and finding myself pressed for time. In brief:
* some one's umbilical cord fell off (hint - not mine, not Doug's). What do we do with it though?
* no cord=first bath. pic coming.
* kinda fussy on monday & tuesday. Dr. Anne recommended a new formula and that seemed to do the trick.
* baby eating more - 4 oz per feeding. Hoping that will get us back on the 11-3-7 overnight schedule cause 10-2-5 aint much fun.
* dad & pop eating more cause mammaw is cooking dinner every night.
* 3 weeks old tomorrow and time for another checkup with Dr. Anne. He's gotta be closing in on 8 pounds by now.

Busy Weekend
A wonderful 3 days with Grandma Dani. We were sad to see her go, but we're going down to LA to visit in August.
Doug's colleague Julie and her daughter Glenna came to visit Saturday afternoon. Glenna and Lonan share the same birthday, as well as good Gealic names.
Bernie, Leslie and their beautiful 4-year-old daughter Teya came over Saturday night and Lonan went out to dinner yet again, this time to Lupa Trattoria -- another Italian neighborhood favorite.
