The Evening of a Very Long Day

1030P and we're just finishing up dinner in Ashley's room. Sorry for the lack of updates today. Of course we were (and are) pretty damn tired. Doug and Mawmaw left about 7 this morning to go home and get some sleep. Shortly after they left one of the doctors told us there was a problem with Lonan's blood... he had too much and was too thick.. a complication resulting from the diabetes. They were able to correct it by drawing blood (80 cc's) and replacing some of it with saline. Unfortunately the procedure had to be done in the NICU (intensive care) and I didn't want to blog that the baby was intensive care and freak anyone out. Anywho, he's fine now. The setup and actual procedure took about 2 hours and they kept him in recovery there for a few hours. I was with him almost the entire time and he slept through it all.

Doug and Mawmaw returned around noon and I left about 2 to get some rest at home. Slept for a few hours and came back tonight and here we are.

Thanks to everyone for your well-wishes and support and for sharing in our journey. It means the world to us.
